Human Services Scholarship
Each year Greystone Foundation offers a one-time financial scholarship of $1,500.00 to three graduating high school students living in Dutchess, Orange or Ulster counties in NY.
REQUIREMENTS :
1. Must have graduated with a High School diploma from a school in Orange, Ulster or Dutchess County. 2. Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited college, including community colleges, in a health or human services field of study, such as, but not limited to, Human Services, Nursing, Physical/Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Sociology, Education. 3. Must have completed 40 hours of volunteer or paid work in a human services-related organization in the previous 12 months. Payable to Recipient upon receipt of the following: 1. Evidence of enrollment in acceptable undergraduate program. 2. Evidence of volunteer or work hours in a human services organization.
Foundation Scholarship Recipients

Mia Villani
2025 Graduate of Valley Central High School
Attending SUNY Cortland in the fall of 2025 to purse a Bachelors of Science degree in Education; major in Physical Education; concentration in adapted physical education.
Career Goal:
I plan to become an adapted physical education teacher where I can be a gym teacher for individuals with disabilities. Post undergraduate school, I plan to obtain a masters degree in special education where I can be a physical education and special education teacher.
Volunteer Work:
Town of Walden Recreational Summer Camp counselor- Responsible for the safety of children ages 5-12 and was able to assist campers in sports activities, swimming, mental health activities and advocated for the children's social development.

Attending Penn State University in the fall of 2024 to purse a degree in special education.

Attending SUNY Buffalo in the fall of 2025 to purse a Bachelors of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences.
Career Goal:
I look forward to research opportunities and will work toward eventually being accepted to medical school. I hope to focus on neurology or emergency medicine.
Volunteer Work:
Roosevelt Fire District Rescue Squad, Hyde Park - volunteer on the ambulance. I am NYScertified as an emergency medical technician (EMT}. I also volunteered at the Mid-Hudson Valley Camp, a sleep away camp for children with intellectual/developmental disabilities in Esopus.
