In 1979, our founder, Marc Kelly, joined with six determined parents to open Greystone’s very first group home. A home for young men with autism. Their dream was simple yet powerful: to create a safe, loving, and permanent home for their sons. More than 45 years later, that dream is still alive most of the original individuals continue to reside in that very same home today. This is not just a residence. This is their forever home.
Like so many aging adults, these six men share a common wish to age in place with dignity, comfort, and independence, rather than being relocated due to physical limitations.
Today, their greatest challenge is a bathroom that no longer meets their changing mobility and safety needs. With the right environmental modifications, we can ensure that their home remains safe, accessible, and supportive for years to come. This year’s Annual Appeal is dedicated entirely to renovating their bathroom to be fully ADA-compliant. Every dollar raised will go directly toward this vital project, no administration, no overhead, just direct impact.
Our goal is to raise $25,000 to complete this renovation.
