...presenting opportunities which result in total positive growth of each person in its care. By operating in the Spirit of "community" and communicating openly and honestly, we nurture relationships which go beyond the commonplace. By utilizing our available energy, talents and time to work side by side with participants as colleagues, we celebrate the wonderful diversity of the human spirit.

Greystone's community based services include Home Behavior Therapy, Residential Habilitation, Respite and Early Intervention. These services are implemented within the homes of families residing in the five-county Hudson Valley region. Regularly scheduled visits by professional Greystone staff are designed to improve the quality of family life by providing information, support and behavioral services. These include strategies for addressing the needs of people with, or at risk of having, developmental delays. Parents and children are taught approaches to managing such problem behavior as resisting supervision, limited social skills, difficulties with personal hygiene and emotional trauma associated with divorce, death and other issues.

Greystone Programs, Inc. provides an after school and school break program called CLUB ASPIRE (After School Program Integrating Recreation & Education). The program services children with Autism/PDD, ages 5-21 years.  This innovative program attempts to accommodate each child's communication/learning method, integrating what has proved to be successfully implemented within the child's current educational agenda.  In June of 2001, Club Aspire opened its own Typical Day Care for children ages 3-5 years old.

Greystone's efforts include special emphasis on services which benefit the community. These include volunteer programs which help to keep the environment clean, assisting with animal care at the county SPCA and participation in play activities at an area daycare center.

Greystone's innovative services can only occur with the continued support of private individual, businesses and corporations. We ask that you join us in meeting the challenge we face today and in coming years by making a tax-deductible contribution to the Greystone Endowment. It will result in new opportunities for people of many different skill levels to experience the joy of self-worth through personal and group achievement.

Individuals with varied abilities are now accepted as valuable contributors to the community, such as the volunteer fire department.
